The grapes for this fine wine were grown predominantly from our Crownthorpe vineyard located on the south side of the Ngaruroro river banks, in the celebrated wine region of Hawkes Bay. The weather over the growing season was excellent, with a hot dry summer allowing the fruit to ripen perfectly for harvesting at the end of March, upon reaching optimum flavour profile.
The juice was fermented to wine in stainless steel vats, then put to maturation for twelve months, with a small portion treated to French oak seasoning. The final wine components were then blended on the 18th of May 2020, followed by fining and filtering before being bottled under screwcap on the 14th of August 2020.
This intensely aromatic wine showcases aromas and flavours of lime, mango, honeydew and rock melon supported with deft toasty oak. Medium-bodied and silky smooth, this delightful wine is enjoyable on its own, or pair beautifully with your favourite chicken, salmon or risotto dish.
