The grapes for this cooler-climate loving variety were sourced from the cooler slopes of the Crownthorpe district of Hawkes Bay, located on the banks of the Ngaruroro River. Healthy fruit was harvested on 20 March 2018 at 19.6° Brix.
This immediately appealing wine was crafted in a fruit forward style achieved through vinification in stainless steel, along with a slow fermentation initiated with yeast specially selected to bring out the luscious intensity of this aromatic variety. The emerging wine was lightly fined, and progressed through to cold stabilisation, before bottling under screwcap on 31st July 2018.
This delicious Pinot Gris has been crafted from grapes of a superior Hawkes Bay vineyard. Full bodied and creamy smooth, it displays attractive pear, Golden Delicious apple and honeydew melon flavours, with a hint of spice. Enjoy with antipasto, chicken or fish dishes.
