Chardonnay

The grapes for this fine wine were grown predominantly in our Meeanee vineyard located slightly inland from the coast in the celebrated wine district of Hawkes Bay. 2017 proved to be an excellent growing season allowing the fruit to be harvested in the last week of March 2017 at optimum flavour profile.

The juice was fermented in separate parcels, the larger parcels in stainless steel vats (approximately 20% was barrel fermented) The portions were blended on 25 May 2017 and the final wine composed 27 October 2017, followed by isinglass fining, then filtration. It was bottled under screwcap on during December 2017.

This intensely aromatic wine showcases aromas and flavours of peach, lemon and baking spices supported by subtle toasty oak. Medium-bodied and silky  smooth, this delightful wine is enjoyable on its own, or to pair beautifully with your favourite chicken, salmon or risotto dish.
