The grapes for this delicious Sauvignon Blanc were sourced predominantly from the cooler elevated terraces of the Crownthorpe district of Hawkes Bay, located a little inland at the upper reaches of the Ngaruroro River, and a smaller portion from the much admired Awatere region of Marlborough. 2017 produced clean, healthy, flavoursome fruit. The fruit for this wine was harvested between 21st and 30th March 2017 at 19° Brix.
Fermentation was initiated and proceeded in a slow controlled manner to preserve both the varietal fruitiness and its aromatic intensity. It was lightly fined, followed by stabilisation prior to bottling during July 2017 under screwcap.
This classic Hawkes Bay Sauvignon Blanc is crafted in an off-dry style, with richness, depth and a delightful aroma of white blossom leading onto flavours of white stonefruit, gooseberry and a hint of lemon. Deliciously appealing, enjoy on its own or matched with your favourite seafood and Asian style dishes.
