Tasting Note

The grapes for this cooler-climate loving variety were sourced from the Maraekakaho sub-region of Hawkes Bay, which enjoys a temperate climate moderated throughout summer by cooling afternoon breezes. 2016 produced clean, healthy, flavoursome fruit, which was harvested on 30 March 2016 at 21.3┬░ Brix.

This immediately appealing wine was crafted in a fruit forward style achieved through vinification in stainless steel, along with a slow fermentation initiated with yeast specially selected to bring out the luscious intensity of this aromatic variety. The emerging wine was fined with casein and then stabilised prior to bottling on 31st June and 1st July 2016 under screwcap.

This delicious Pinot Gris has been crafted from grapes of a superior Hawkes Bay vineyard. Full bodied and smooth, it displays attractive peach and pear flavours complimented with dried hay and fig notes, and an enveloping spicy lift which leads to a soft dry finish. Enjoy with antipasto, chicken or fish dishes.
