Mills Reef Chardonnay 2009

Tasting Notes:

The grapes for this fine wine were grown in two specially selected cooler coastal vineyards located in the Meeanee area of Hawkes Bay. The excellent weather of 2009 growing season allowed the grapes to be harvested during early-April at ideal ripeness and in excellent condition, with optimal berry and flavour development.

The two juices were fermented in stainless steel tanks to emphasise fruit driven flavours and characteristics. The two parcels of wine were then judiciously blended together, followed by bottling under screwcap in mid-April 2010.

This full-bodied Chardonnay is crafted in an easy drinking style with tropical stonefruit, pink grapefruit and citrusy lemon aromas and flavours. It displays vibrant acidity with balanced sweetness, complemented with subtle oak seasoning and a long persistent finish.
